This braided fire fan has a lying horizontal handle and is made of brown braid strips (warimbo). The plaiting pattern consists of overlapping braides that end in a rectangle. The whole is sewn with rope made of awarra tongo.

Fire fans are generally used to stoke the fire, but also for preparing food and as a cooling fan at tropical temperatures. In Europe, these accessories are also used as wall decoration.
